EHX and CE Pro Open Channel for Alternative Energy and Energy Management Providers
Smart Energy Pavilion Launched at EHX Spring 2010 in Response to Migration of Custom Electronics Professionals to New Green Economy Opportunities
Framingham, MA – December 7, 2009 – Electronic House Expo (EHX) and CE Pro announce the creation of the Smart Energy Pavilion and Education Center at EHX Spring 2010: The New Opportunities Show, March 25-27 in Orlando, Florida.
Smart Energy at EHX will cover alternative energy, including solar panels, wind turbines, and geothermal systems. It will also feature energy management systems in which integrators are shedding electrical loads, setting global limits for lighting, and activating real-time change in homes' electrical usage.
The Smart Energy Pavilion, located on the Expo Floor, will give attendees the opportunity to see, touch, and learn the new technologies for energy creation, monitoring, and management. This is the place for attendees to see how dealers are tapping into the growth opportunities being created by the new green economy.
“A recent national survey of CE Pro readers confirms that custom electronics dealers, installers, and integrators are moving quickly to embrace smart energy, which includes alternative energy creation and energy management and monitoring systems, products, and services as a growth field,” says CE Pro Editor-in-Chief Jason Knott. “In the survey, 46 percent of custom electronics professionals who were not currently providing smart energy solutions planned to begin offering these solutions and services within the next year.”
A rapid expansion of the smart energy market is further supported by projections that smart energy revenue (as a percentage of total revenue) will climb rapidly in the next three years. One-third of survey respondents indicated they expect smart energy to contribute to over 30 percent of their revenue by 2012.
“The Smart Energy Pavilion will showcase innovative technologies and serve as a primary education center for manufacturers to reach the important dealer network,” says Knott. “The CE industry as a sales channel for these products is evolving quickly. The expertise of the custom electronics professional is critical for rapid adoption, installation, and maintenance of smart energy solutions.”
Smart Energy is one of seven major conference tracks that will highlight growth opportunities for the CE market, along with Home Health Technology, Commercial, Retrofit, Recurring Revenue, Digital Media, and Custom Electronics. This track will review the most promising technologies for alternative energy and energy management while detailing the profit margins dealers could expect to achieve. It will also feature technologies, business models, product sourcing trends, and marketing and sales strategies in energy creation, monitoring, and management.
For the first time, all courses at EHX, including the full-day CEDIA sessions, are free with the all-inclusive EHX New Opportunities Pass. The pass also includes:
