EH Publishing to Retire EHX After 2012
In response to the changing needs of the integration community, EH Publishing has announced it will retire the Electronic House Expo (EHX) following the conclusion of this week's EHX in Orlando.
The move enables EH Publishing, the publisher of CE Pro, to redirect resources toward the development of a new, more intimate conference and networking-based format that will debut in 2013.
EHX was launched in 2000 and has filled vital industry needs since its inception. The trade show and education played a particularly important role in the industry’s success during the new home construction boom of the mid-2000s.
"As we move to a new era for the electronic systems integration industry, it appears clear to us at EH Publishing that formats other than the traditional trade show model EHX was built on would be more effective for both suppliers and their channel partners," says John Galante, managing director of EH Events. "We’ll be looking to attract hundreds (not thousands) of the bigger, better custom and commercial integration companies to our future events, with a real focus on compelling business and applications conference content, best practice sharing and a more intimate, networking style of interaction with sponsoring suppliers.”
The new event format builds on the production of the successful CE Pro 100 Summit. It will extend the Summit guest proposition, which helps top integrators develop their business plans and product mix, to a larger, broader audience of quality integrators.
"It’s been a great ride with EHX, and we’re grateful to the hundreds of exhibiting suppliers, thousands of integrator attendees and hundreds of expert presenters we were able to serve over 13 years," adds Galante. “Future EH events will generate even more excitement and productive exchange as we adapt our formats to the changing custom and commercial integration markets."
